Leigh Adams of Farnham Roundtable has asked us to advertise the following event:
A couple of years ago a former Army officer named Dominic Faulkner led a British team in a world first, they became the first people to travel from the lowest point on Earth to the highest; they cycled the 5,000 miles from the Dead Sea to the base of Everest, then climbed it!
He’s written an inspiring book about it, www.thelongestclimb.com, which has got rave reviews from all sorts of people including Sir Ranulph Feinnes and Bear Grylls. There’s also a short video of their expedition here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzkSxW-sR1k).
He is coming to the Farnham area on 29th January in a unique event orgainsed by the Round Table at Frensham Heights Performing Arts Centre. Dominic will bring this adventurous journey to life with a combination of personal accounts, stunning photos and film footage, there will also be the opportunity to ask questions. There are only 300 places and tickets are just £10, more details here http://www.farnhamroundtable.org.uk/#/longest-climb/4534178008 and all profits go to local charities.
There will also be a charity auction with some cool goodies up for grabs. It promises to be a great evening for just a tenner.
