SOC have won the Guest Team in the BAOC MLS Wednesday league for the 4th year running. Many congratulations to all SOC runners who take part in the league, those who attend will tell you how good it is for competition and fitness training, not to mention the social aspects...the only problem being that it clashes with most peoples work time!
I attended the prize giving ceremony and were presented with 4 trophies for the top Guest Team. The top 4 SOC counting runners are:
Sam Massey
Philip Eeles
Jack Hutchinson
Robin Smith

This is the last club night before the summer break. We are putting on a sprint course in the Gregg school grounds and surrounding residential area using the recently extended map at 1:3000 scale to the full sprint specification. EMIT timing will be used, and the event will be 2 pronged, a qualifier and a final. Planner Rachel Cooper. £1 adults and 50p juniors. Please can you email Colin Hicks - colinhicksatchartwork.org.uk to reserve a map. Qualifier start between 6.45pm and 7.15pm. Final 8pm approx.
The club BBQ will be held following the final event in the popular Summer Series at Royal Victoria Country Park on Saturday 17th July.
The Summer Series prize giving will also take place as soon as possible during the BBQ.
Full details of the event, BBQ and prize giving can be found in the attached 'flyer' document.
I look forward to seeing you all there .
Thank you to everyone who helped at the event which is very much appreciated. Ian Moran
This weeks club night will be held at the "Pavilion in the Park" at Fleming Park - car park Magpie Lane (not main Fleming Park Leisure Centre). Although you can park there and its about 5 min. walk across the park.
This week the training night is being held at Fleming Park Leisure Centre Eastleigh - 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
See location map for last Saturdays event.
As well as the usual warming up and down the training exercise will cover running on a bearing using the green course from Saturdays event, and hopefully a photo-O.
The controls from Saturdays event will be used so you can just come along and have a run on our newest map, on the yellow, orange or green courses.
A very enjoyable fine morning for the sixth event in the SOC Summer Series at Fleming Park. Many thanks to Bill and Barbara Davidson and Roger Pleasant for Planning and Organisation.
