Our next level C event is at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, near Petersfield on Sunday 18th March. We need a volunteer to plan and run the string course. PLEASE NOTE - the SARUM night event at Stonedown Wood has been cancelled. However, the Dorset Schools event on the same area during the day on Saurday 4th February 2012 is still going ahead.

After last weeks Street O we are back to the Thursday Social this week. A good turn out of 14 who ran round and a few others that came along for the social afterwoods. A big thank you to Bill for organising a great little event.

We are trying out the Wheatsheaf in Shedfield this Thursday. We will be there from around 20:00.

As usual bring any maps of recent events or raise other topics that are of interest.

PS The Wheatsheaf Inn is situated about halfway between Botley and Wickham on the A334.

Level A Event 11th march. Foxley Wood & Garnstone Hereford

The Midlands Championships will be held on Foxley wood & Garnstone in Herefordshire on the 11th of March.

It is a Level A (National) event and part of an orienteering weekend which includes an Urban event in Malvern on Saturday the 10th.

First cut off date for entries is the 12th of Feb and the final cut off by the 29th of Feb.

For anyone is interested in going to the level A event on the Sunday and shareing a lift I will co-ordinate.

I have Robin Smith who is Keen to go so far.

Let me know if you are interested in a lift share or contact Robin direct.

Evening event on Brownsea Island

This Thursday 26th January. 18:45 for a mass start at 19:00. Meet at the Comunity Hall Car Park behind the Cleveland Bay Public House. Grid Ref: SU 421200 Post code; SO53 4ST.

A 60 minute Score event.

Bring a Torch or Head Torch, an A4 platic sleeve in case it rains.

20:15 in the Cleveland Bay to compare routes etc, or for a social & chat. Open to those who just want to come along for the social!

This Year's JK is in Scotland based around Dunkeld, 6th - 9th April. Individual Days are at Dunalastair (Sat 7th) & Craig a Barns ( Sun 8th).

The Next Cut-off date for individual entries is 31st January after which the cost goes up again. Final chance to enter by 11th of March.

For the Relays I need to put our entries in by the

26th of February. Cost per Senior Team ££36, Junior team £22.50

Thursday 19th January. Waterloo Arms, Freemantle. 20:00 for a Social and beer.

As the Club mappers are also meeting at the Waterloo it would be good to get together there as well!

1 Hour Score starts at 19:00.  You need a torch and an A4 map cover. Beer afterwoods.

First Aid support

We aim to provide First Aid support at club events. This is currently provided either by our Club coaches or by hiring in help from outside. The committee would like to increase the pool of volunteers we can call on. If you have a current First Aid certificate following a minimum of 4 hours training, and are willing to be available for a shift at club events please let Jillian Devine know.

We were lucky with the weather and the Car Park was just about large enough.

I hope you all enjoyed your runs, the going was slightly heavy across the open heathland. It was a lot wetter a couple of days before.

We were lucky with the weather on the day and the Car Park just about coped with the numbers.

Results amended.

I hope you all enjoyed your selves and managed to cope with the heavy going on the open heath, it was much wetter a couple of days before.
