The Summer Series (2010) has now finished. Overall, it has been a great success and a huge 'thank you' is due to all the people who have planned, organised, controlled, surveyed new maps, hung or collected controls, coached and helped the many newcomers at the events and all the other little things that have made the Series run so smoothly. The offers of help from across the club have been most pleasing.
The Final Positions and Medal / Certifcicate winners are attached below. In my effort to get the results ready as quickly as possible for the prizegiving, I inevitably made a few errors. Apologies to;
Jean Velecky who slipped into 2 place on the senior Orange course & to Gill Tomlinson who was in fact joint 2nd not 3rd on the senior Green course. This allowed Peter Smith to take 3rd on this course.Â
For all the newcomers who took part, I hope the Series has whetted your appetite for the sport and we look forward to seeing you at some of the nearby events as we head into Autumn & Winter. For the more experienced orienteers, I hope you found the challenge of our faster 'Park O' areas to your taste.
This was our first attempt at a Summer Series so if you have any comments or suggestions to help us improve for next year, I'd love to hear them.
