IOF Control Descriptions Review

For those of you involved in event planning and controlling, the IOF Rules Commission have been working on a revision of the IOF Control Descriptions. You can read the summary of the proposed changes, including changes which have been considered but rejected here.

The IOF Control Review document has been circulated to BO Map Advisory Group and all Controllers for comment. I will be sending a summary of the comments received to IOF before the end of September. I'm happy to include any additional comments from SOC members.

SOCK Articles

Now that Summer is drawing to a close, its now time to look to the orienteering season ahead and the Autumn edition of SOCK. With many exciting events over the summer, I'm sure there are plenty of you that could write some brilliant articles - if you've never tried before, why not have a go this time?

Please could I have all articles, reports, photos, results, reminders or anything else you'd like included emailed to me at: news [at] socweb.org (news[at]socweb[dot]org) by Wednesday 21st September at the latest.

Also, I am still looking for both an Assistant Editor & Junior Editor to join the SOCK team! Neither of these jobs will be too much hardwork or take up too much of your time, but it will make my life a little easier - especially as I start my gap year placement on the 19th September. Please let me know if you're interested and we can discuss what the role would entail.
