SCOA Treasurer

The South Central Orienteering Association (SCOA), which represents the orienteering clubs in southern England and co-ordinates such matters as fixtures, coaching and the Junior Squad is still looking for volunteers to take on the role of Treasurer. It is not too onerous, but never the less an important task which helps to support the Association. There will of course be a proper handover and support during the first few months.

If you are interested in taking on this role, or require further information, please don't hesitate to contact either Di Smith, Ian Moran or Jerry Newcombe who is the incumbent.

 

Results for Stoke Park Woods

Another fantastic turnout for the event at Stoke Park Woods. Thanks to Colin Hicks for a super set of courses. Thanks also to the weather gods for being kinder to us than the forecast.

Our next event is on 4th June at IBM Hursley - a lovely area for orienteering.

Thanks to all the helpers and to Kevin for organising.
Also thanks for all the positive comments on the courses, the woods are not the easiest to plan in recently, with the areas of bramble and green forest but parts are certainly more runnable than previously, with features appearing that have been hidden for years. Extending the map area east and using the Infants School enabled the yellow and orange course to visit the eastern valley in the woods, by placing the start in the urban area.
This also gave more scope for a longer urban loop on the Light Green course.
