MapRun League and Socials
We are now into the penultimate week of the MapRun League. You have until Sunday 23rd to have a go at the Winchester MapRun. Steve Pullen the Planner has set us a lovely course around the old part of the city and the water meadows. He has also had a go already and set us a total of 480 points to beat!
This Thursday 20th at 18:30, we are organising a social to do the MapRun and pub. Meet at The Queen Inn pub to do the MapRun (it is also the start/finish) and then we will get some tables for a refreshment and debrief. Pub details here: http://www.thequeeninnwinchester.com/
We plan on doing the same the following week for the Stoke Park Woods social. Stoke Park Woods MapRun event number 8 available 22nd May to the Bank Holiday Monday 31st May.
The League tables have been updated to cover the first 6 weeks. It will be between Nick and David for the win with both having 3 wins and 3 second places. It looks like Karen will be the top woman unless Christine has two amazing last runs! 20 orienteers now have the 5 or more required scores to count, with a further 10 maprunners on 4 scores. Remember it is your best 5 scores from the 8 events so definitely all to play for over the last two events. Full League table is here: https://socweb.org/maprun/league/results
We hope you have enjoyed the League and a chance to get out orienteering again. Hopefully see you at one of the socials or at the Westwood event on Saturday 29th May.
