Helpers wanted for Ocknell level D event Sat 8 Oct

By Marcus White , 26 September, 2016

Helpers are wanted for the level D event at Ocknell on Saturday 8 October.

A slightly larger team is needed because of the Forestry Commission's requirement for us to man/woman the campsite gate.

Please contact: marcus.white [at] bbc.co.uk (marcus[dot]white[at]bbc[dot]co[dot]uk).

Thanks!

Salisbury Trench Level D

By Peter Stewart , 17 September, 2016

Thank you for comming to our event.

It was good to have some sun shine after the rain over the last few days.

Thank you Ben for pointing out that two Ornage course controls were the wrong way round.  We were luck that only one course was affected.  It looks like it didn't slow you down too much and I hope it didn't put anyone else off their stride.

The results are attached below.

The event is on Route Gadget here: http://www.soc.routegadget.co.uk/rg2/#56

Please show us your route, so that we can learn better rote choice.

Bracken can be a problem at this time of year, so I was very pleasantly suprised at how much of the area had good run ability.

Salisbury Trench has an interesting shape, so I thought that it would be a good venue for a Brown Map exercise.

Thank you Terry for helping with the map for that.  It was good to see some up-take of that option.

SOC Store Keys - have you got one?

By LMJ , 16 September, 2016

I'm aware there are a number of keys to the SOC Equipment Store (at Rollesbrook Gardens) in circulation.

I'm pulling togther a list of key holders (and where they live) to make it easy for people who aren't designated key holders to make contact to collect / return keys.

Please let me know by the end of September if you have a Store Key and the area where you live. If you have a Store Key you no longer need, bring it along to any of our upcoming events and I'll willingly relieve you of it!

Thanks, Lisa
